Honeywell electrostatic precipitator or electronic air cleaner (EAC) is an advanced air filtration system designed to remove microscopic particles from the air without impeding the flow of air through the air-conditioning system. It removes tiny particles from the air such as smoke and haze particles, bacteria, mould spores, dust mites and other allergens by using the force of an induced electrostatic attraction – like charges repel and unlike charges attract.
Electronic air cleaners help to reduce the ecological footprint by:
- Reducing the pressure drop across the cleaners, resulting in significant fan energy savings
- Eliminating environmental waste as EACs are washable, reusable and recyclable, unlike media air filters which are disposed of after just a few months’ of use.
Honeywell EAC is rated at MERV 14 under ASHRAE 52.2 Standard and meets the Singapore IAQ Code of Practice SS554 and the latest BCA Green Mark Assessment Criteria for New Buildings (Non-Residential) 2015 and the latest BCA Green Mark Assessment for Existing Buildings (Non-Residential) 2017. Honeywell EAC is also certified by the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) with 2 ticks.
